It is always lovely to book your holidays and more so when my customers have a superb time. Jaime and her family spent New Year in Dubai. I love her tips and hints for other travellers.
We booked our first family holiday to Dubai with Nikki at NC Travel and what an amazing experience we had! I knew exactly what I wanted and Nikki made all of this possible, even down to arranging a baby seat in our transfers to and from the airport, I didn’t have to lift a finger! We have been to Dubai many times before, but nothing compared to the ease of this holiday, even with a baby in tow!
We flew out from Heathrow on 30 December, and stayed at Sofitel Palm Dubai for ten nights, returning on 10 January.
The weather when we arrived wasn’t great and it was the first bit of rain the locals had seen in two years, but this did not spoil our trip at all.
I could not fault the service we received during our stay, the staff there were amazing and could not do enough for you, even helping us with getting the children in and out of the taxis/ cars when leaving and arriving at the hotel. They were amazing in every aspect!
Our New Year’s Eve dinner was even arranged for us and we sat on the beach at the Gala Dinner watching the fireworks over the Dubai skyline - it was truly breathtaking and I will be forever grateful that Nikki arranged this for us. I was planning on arranging a NYE dinner myself but could never have topped this. The hotel did an amazing job in putting this on for the guests! I would definitely visit this hotel over NYE again purely just for this experience.
There were a wide variety of cuisines available at breakfast, lunch and dinner in the hotel restaurants. The hotel also had some lovely little boutique style shops. If you forget to pack anything you will be in safe hands at the Sofitel! As for the Spa - WOW - it was beautiful and like a little hidden gem in the hotel. The best facial and massage I’ve ever had!
Whilst in Dubai we visited the Dubai Malls, aquarium, sand dunes buggies, skiing, mermaid experience (amazing for the children), waterparks and visited lots of nice restaurants.
Our favourite restaurant was Thiptara, a Thai/ Chinese restaurant sitting on the decking over the water next to the Dubai Fountains, another breathtaking experience and a must-do if you visit Dubai and love a good restaurant!
I would also recommend GAL restaurant, Cheesecake Factory, Nobu, Fi’lia, Pai Thai, Nammos, Beach Club, Drift Beach, Aura Skypool (amazing views of the Palm Jumeirah).
On the way back, we upgraded our flights to Premium Economy. I would highly recommend doing this if possible - it made a seven hour flight with a baby a whole lot easier and was worth every penny! The cabin crew at Emirates were amazing and very good with children too.
I will definitely be booking our future holidays with NC Travel - everything was so seamless and I was so grateful for Nikki being at the other end of the phone day or night whenever I had any questions, however silly they may have been!
Nikki was also extremely helpful with helping me ensure I had completed all the necessary Covid requirements and I literally could not have done this without her!
This was the first holiday I have been on where I simply did not want to come home - everything was just perfect and stress-free. I wish we could do it all over again!
